Lärkkulla Music serves as a collective name for the various music educations that Lärkkulla Folk Academy offers. With us, you can study music for one or more years in the following specializations: Lärkkulla Pop&Rock, Lärkkulla Musical, Lärkkulla Combined or in our latest program, Lärkkulla Songwriting, which started in the autumn of 2021.

Each program has its own specialization and special area, but common to them all is that you get to immerse yourself in the world of music for a year while you develop as a musician and human being.

Lärkkulla pop&rock

Lärkkulla Pop&Rock offers you full-time studies in music during one or two academic years at the Folk Academy.

During one study week you will have 25 lessons. One 45 minute private lesson in your main instrument is included in the price. If you would like to take lessons in a secondary instrument, there will be an added fee for that. 

You can study: vocals, electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, rhythmic piano, classical piano, drums and studio technique. 

We also offer group lessons in: music theory, classical/pop&rock music history, solfège, ensemble, band, choir, vocals workshop and secondary instruments. 

The official study language of the pop&rock program is Swedish, but you can also choose to take our Combined Course, which combines language studies with the music studies. Private lessons are available in Swedish, Finnish and English. 

lärkkulla songwriting

Lärkkulla Songwriting is a new bilingual program that focuses on artistry, songwriting, production, entrepreneurship, industry knowledge, singing, piano and guitar.

The teaching also includes music theory, choir, and studio recording. During a study week, you have 25 lessons supervised teaching.

In this training module, we want to offer versatility and an insight into how the music industry and artistry work.

As head teachers, two active artists from the industry: Sandra Långbacka and Paul Uotila.

Sandra is an artist and songwriter but also a trained music teacher from the Sibelius Academy. Paul has been part of the music group Satin Cirkus and now has a solo career as "Paul Elias".

In addition, workshops are held by experienced teachers from the industry.

Lärkkulla Combined

If you would like to hone your musical talent and acquire language skills in order to get ahead in today’s competitive music industry, then this might be an option for you. This unique study program offers you the chance to develop your proficiency as musicians and to learn the Finnish or English skills necessary to apply to music programs at university level in Finland, or abroad.

Lärkkulla folk academy has designed a bespoke Combo Course to fine-tune your skills in your favorite instrument and to equip you with essential communication studies in English or Finnish.

You choose a major subject from the music program and you will have one private lesson per week of the following subjects: vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano or music production. You can also participate in our choir or play in the band (90 minutes/week).

Lärkkulla Musical

In the Lärkkulla Musical study program, you’ll study full-time singing, dancing and acting with experienced teachers from the industry. In addition, you also study music theory and hearing, languages, and work in the studio.

Lärkkulla hire visiting teachers who specialize in their field in this genre. In addition, the program has its own head teachers who are responsible for planning the content of the program and who are professionals in the industry.

In addition to our full-time studies, Lärkkulla Music also offers individual tuition with our professional teachers in the following subjects: vocals, guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, bands. The teaching takes place in free forms as often as you wish.

This concept is suitable for you as a young person or adult who wants to deepen your knowledge in a certain instrument in addition to work or other studies.
